Founder of Curio Shop

Margot Mayer is a Brooklyn-based antiques dealer & interior designer. Growing up surrounded by antiques & frequenting flea markets as a child, Margot pursed her love of the past at Vassar College where she studied Art History. Fascinated by the objects in Old Masters paintings, she soon developed a passion for the decorative arts and eventually the wider world of antiques. She founded CURIO SHOP in 2021 as a way of reintroducing antiques to her generation and has since developed a clientele of all ages.

CURIO SHOP is an antiques and interior design business based in Brooklyn that brings old world objects and spaces to life. Sourced directly from Europe, every object is lovingly curated for its beauty, character, quality, & timelessness. Whether it be a single object or design for an entire room, my approach is to tell a story with beautiful, unusual antiques that delight & inspire.

With an eye for discovering forgotten gems, I source objects, furniture, art & lighting on a project or ongoing basis.
