A remarkable 18th century Spanish cantir with opal latticinio decoration with applied elongated frontal pouring spout, applied backside refilling spout, intricate opaque-twist handle with figural bird finial, compressed lower extension with a sloping and tapering foot, and rough pontil mark.

Cantirs were communal drinking water vessels unique to Catalonia in Spain that developed from the 17th century onwards. One spout is for filling and the other for drinking without having the vessel touch the mouth.. This particular cantir is in extraordinary condition with its more fragile glass details in perfect condition.

Dimensions: 13” H x 6” Diameter at base
